ABOUT CHEF TOM SCANGARELLO
Chef Tom Scangarello’s early background as a self-trained chef has led to nearly forty years cooking and entertaining at private and semi-private parties. Wanting to refine his craft, Tom recently trained at the Institute of Culinary Education in New York City, Viking Cooking Schools and Sur Le Table. Tom is an active member of the James Beard Foundation where he attended cooking demonstrations and dinners as well as a member of the United States Personal Chef Association.
The Food Studio at the acclaimed Long Beach Island Foundation for Arts and Sciences was created in 2013. Tom holds the position of Director and also instructs classes in the essentials of cooking. Participants learn how to prepare a four-course meal from start to finish. As an instructor, Tom breaks down each recipe into easy-to-follow steps that can be repeated at home.

Fresh off the successful founding of the Long Beach Island Foundation of Arts and Sciences Food Studio Culinary Program, Tom brings the Food Studio experience right into your home here in Naples and Southwest Florida. As part of the private Food Studio experience guests may participate in an entertaining demonstration, an intimate hands-on lesson or an interactive dinner party. Specifically Tom’s innovative sessions include: Dinner Parties, hands on cooking, and techniques of cooking.
